Can you tell us about your background?
My name is Sébastien Marquand and I trained as an engineer at Arts et Métiers. Innovateam was my first company, and I joined in September 2005 to work on an assignment for Technip.
What was your mission at Innovateam?
I joined Technip on an assignment to work on the offshore installation side: on everything to do with pipelines, offshore pipes under platforms, and installation procedures. I stayed there for just over 2 years.
What did you do after Innovateam?
When I left Innovateam, I continued my career for 5 years with Cegelec Paris, a branch of Vinci Energies, as a project manager in HVAC engineering. I worked on renovation and new construction projects for hospitals, offices and pharmaceutical sites.
I then joined UTB until 2019, where I held the same position with the addition of roofing. Initially as a project manager, then department manager, and finally works department manager (heating, ventilation, plumbing, air conditioning, air handling and roofing).
In 2019, I decided to start a business that involved applying 3D printing to plumbing to optimize time and cost. For various reasons, I had to drop this project.
At the end of 2021, I decided to become an AXA Prévoyance insurance agent, which I'm still doing today. It's an entrepreneurial profession, because I run my own practice, with an exclusive AXA Prévoyance et Patrimoine mandate.
What is your current position?
I'm currently an expert advisor in social and financial protection at AXA Prévoyance et Patrimoine. My job is to offer my clients solutions to protect their money, save them money and make them money. This involves all aspects of provident savings, mutual health insurance (especially for the self-employed and retired), retirement and life insurance.
What has your experience at Innovateam brought you?
This experience taught me a lot, first of all because it was my first professional experience! Innovateam taught me to think ahead and gave me an insight into highly structured and organized businesses. It also taught me to be rigorous, perfectionist and flexible in my work.
What does Innovateam mean to you?
My first professional experience and my first taste of the working world!
What impressed you about Innovateam?
Fluid, constantly adapted management.
I'm thinking of an anecdote: we met at an aperitif in Paris with all the Innovateam members to get to know each other. Today, I'm still in touch with some of them!
